Horizon 03:28
I’m setting my sights once again Views are surprising, perusing horizons For glimpses of goodness again Everything’ changing but somethings remain Look at me looking for you On the horizon as God’s got her eyes on me Doing the things that I do Here in the moment when my eyes are roaming Wind is harder to see Than the sway on the tree Lead me on, lead me on, lead me on Trusting my reflex again There's only good nature, the soul is insatiable Touching the secretest thing Glimpsing the Way and its grace upon grace once again Keeping my sights on the place where the land meets the sky Hoping something will find me, find me on the horizon Wind is harder to see Than the sway on the tree Lead me on, lead me on, lead me on

I will light the fire, you will make the bread Kindle my desire when I’m needing love instead Sunlight through the ash trees, autumn in the air I will prune and stash these moments of repair Every day must end but there are long tomorrows calling out your name A setting sun will send a moon to light your sorrows. Dawn is chance to change I will cross the old brook, where we feed the sow This will do my soul good, follow to the brow We are on our way home By the hunter’s moon We need a place to stay though Winter’s coming soon Every day must end but there are long tomorrows calling out your name A setting sun will send a moon, to light your sorrows. Dawn is chance to change Sow your sorrow Grow tomorrow Beg or borrow Calling out your name

For my time you catch my eye Woodpecker arc is all Am in the right place? You decide With your playground for my sake and soul Your shape is on my mind You decide, you decide With a beat on bark, like a tapping heart The flash of red cap calls Is this where the path goes? You decide With your playground for my sake and soul Your shape is on my mind You decide, you decide The hiding place with a mind awake The secret life is a star of light If you love it get rid of it If you love it give it away Open hands, love your land Don’t decide but be Secret life, star of light Love and give away

about

These three songs here were written at various in-between-times. There have been a few of those lately. As I’m at another they came back to me and I found myself recording them on a sunny weekend as a kind of reflection. It’s been like prayer; a meditation.

There have been painful moments in this last year, times of exhaustion and hopelessness. But generally I have found that those times on the cusp are actually rich. Strangely rich in spirit. Those are the times that you ask big questions, that you realise what you rely on, and give a keener eye for significance.
